Dover - Danaher Motion's Ultra-Smooth Air Bearings are useful in applications where extreme velocity control is needed. It combines the non-contact technology of air bearings, linear motors, and linear encoders, which means no wearing parts and excellent reliability. The Airglide stage also has up to 10 air or vacuum lines available at the table carriage for clamps or purge lines. Standard travels range from 200 to 400mm travel.

Isotech offers AB Air Bearings that feature a specially shaped stainless steel piston precisely fitted to a borosilicate glass cylinder. This create a true air bearing airflow effect around the piston. As little as 5 psi applied to the cylinder produces a stiff cushion of air that supports the piston and prevents it from coming in contact with the cylinder wall. Precitech manufactures air bearings, including rotary tables that provide an ultra-precision rotary reference axis for gaging, manufacturing and test applications. Their air bearing linear stages come in three basic series with travel lengths from 2" (50mm) to 20" (500mm) and special lengths available.

Anorad offers the Microglide T350 single plane XY positioning system. It's motion dynamics are achieved by using optically flat linear air bearings to guide the lightweight "T" shaped engineered ceramic beam. A single linear servomotor actuates the X-axis aluminum saddle directly along the ceramic beam's center line. Two widely spaced linear servomotors work in parallel to drive the ceramic beam along the Y-axis. It is available with either high precision optical linear encoders (T350E), or plane mirror laser interferometers (T350L).
