Cylindrical bearings have high radial capacity, low friction and high speed operation. The rollers are crowned or end relieved. The bearings are made in precision grades of RBEC5. They are lubricated with oil which helps cools the bearings. In high speeds and light loads, cylindrical roller bearings are prone to  roller skidding. This can be solved with an out of round raceway that pinch the roller at opposite points. Another solution is using two preloaded hollow rollers. Non locating bearings are a type of cylindrical roller bearing with a separable outer ring or inner ring. They allow for axial motion of the shaft. They must be used with ball bearings.
